I cant help crying...

whenever i know/think about dogs that need to be adopted and just wanna be loved.
My Louie is so lucky that he has a mommy and family who LOVES him to PIECES!! It makes me sad that there are so many dogs out there that dont get that

I know how you feel...I especially get teary b/c our 2nd baby, Morgan we adopted from the shelter and she was 7mths old...they said she was a stray....she is seriously the best dog (besides my other dogs )
But I just don't know how people don't take the time to give animals loving homes....after we brought her home she was so happy and she walked so proudly...I hope she knows how happy she has made us

It breaks my heart when I think about it. I wish i had a bigger house so I could fill it with more animals!!!

I feel your pain. I always find myself looking at Petfinders wishing I could take them all in.

If I win the lotto I will have soooo many doggies.


ETA: This is Annie at the shelter before she came home. She was a stray. I don't get how such a wonderful dog could wind up on the street. Look how skinny she is!!!

I hear ya! There is this awesome animal sanctuary out west called Best Friends. There theory is to bring animals to their Sanctuary so they have freedoms and space. We're talking all kinds of animals. I wish that I could start something like that out here on LI. I walked into the pound once and started crying b/c I wanted to take them ALL home. Even the meanies...they'll probably never have a home.

I have been feeling this way too. I really feel for them. I want to volunteer, but am afraid I am going to get so upset seeing them.

I wish I could adopt a doggie, I can't even look at petfinders anymore because there are so many adorable dogs its torture to know that I can't take one of them home

My shih tzu (she is really the family dog) stays at my mom's on LI, and I live in the city. I work 12 hour shifts, so I feel its not fair to keep a dog here that long alone. Oh I only wish there was a way!

Sometimes people want to, but they can't.

We rent a home and are not permitted to have cats or dogs. Despite my SEVERE allergies, I would be perfectly willing to adopt a dog that does not shed when we become homeowners, but that will not be for some time yet.

I think my hardest hurdle will be getting DH to agree to adopting a dog. He does not like them at all.
