Confused?

When I went for my 1st u/s my baby measured at 6w 3d and based on my LMP I was between 6w 1-6w 3d.

However today I went the baby measured almost an entire week ahead?? My Dr. said my due date would not change because of my initial u/s and that they baby was growing healthy. Is it normal for the baby to grow so fast in the beginning? Does this throw off my conception date also and make it sooner?? Am I now a week ahead and say 11 weeks instead of 10??

When I went for my Level II, they told me the baby was measuring about 2-3 weeks ahead of where I was. They said that sometimes the babies have a growth spurt and that it was nothing to worry about. They never changed my EDD.

I think they take that information, together with your stomach measurements once they start measuring you and go from there. Not positive, but that was my experience.

And by the way... so they told me the baby was measuring 3 weeks ahead of schedule... my due date was 2 days ago so that couldn't have been right!!!

I had a large baby. At 34 weeks he was measuring at 41 weeks. But if he was born at 34 weeks, he would've still been a premie. They say your EDD is by the baby's body functions, not always by size.

my "due date" based on measurements was always changing in the beginning.

The Dr. would tell me new due dates but on my record he stuck w/my LMP due date for my whole pregnancy...now I'm measuring right on target based on my LMP...I think most Drs stick w/that.

At my 12 weeks and 20 weeks sonos, my baby was measuring ahead. They said it's totally normal to have growth spurts along the way. My doc said the most accurate dating of the pregnancy is actually done in the early sonos (b/w 7 - 9 weeks). So, he has never changed my due date.

At my 12 week sono my baby was measuring 12w4d. At my 18 week sono baby was measuring 19w3d. The doctor said that I'm probably going to have a big baby -- didn't change my due date at all.

At the beging my EDD was 9/24/07 after having an internal sono (not sure what week that was) they changed my EDD to 9/21/07\
we shall see what happens...

depending on who was doing the wheel at my doctors appointment, my weeks kept changing until the later on sonos.
