When hosting a BBQ...
do you think that there should already been enough beer/wine/soda for people to drink? DH doesn't seem to think so. Our friends tend to bring over beer or wine with them when they come for parties so he's banking on that. We did get an 18 pack of bud light, but I feel like we should also have at least one bottle of wine, in case no one brings any. What do you think?

I would buy some wine. If people don't bring beer you can always run out to get some but the wine might be hard to get.

Re: When hosting a BBQ...
Most of our friends bring beer when they come. We just had a BBQ for DS' baptism, we had 1 pk of Coors Light, 1 pk of Bud and 1 pk of Coronas. All but 4 cans of Bud went. We ahd 35 people.

Yes, I think the hosts should to provide beverages for everyone. Anything guests bring should be extra.

I agree with this. I fight with DH about it all the time. He always tells his friends to bring beer anytime we are having a party. His argument is that it will save us money. I tried explaining that we aren't in college anymore, and that if we can't afford to host a party, that we shouldn't!!
If people want to bring something on their own, that is just extra, but I always have everything that will be needed for parties that I host.

If we're hosting, I don't expect my guests to bring anything. We stock up by going to the beverage & liquor store. I'd rather have too much than not enough.

I agree. I don't expect my guests to fund the beverages.
When we throw a party we get everything. If there's extra..so be it.
