Norton AntiVirus???
Ok...so we didn't have anything protecting our computer and started getting pop ups, so I downloaded Norton AnitVirus online because they were supposed to be good.
We are still getting pop ups.
Now they want to charge me $100 to remove spyware from the computer remotely!!
Is this normal??
W T F?!?! I thought that's why I bought it in the first place.
Does anyone have any experience with this??

Re: Norton AntiVirus???
Good suggestions. Also try AVG antivirus. It's also free and all I've used for years.

Another suggestion is AdAware. It's free as well. If you have any questions FM me.

Re: Norton AntiVirus???
Anti-virus programs don't block popups (unless it's part of a suite of tools). Anti-virus blocks viruses. Pop-ups are different, as is adware, malware, trojan horses, etc.

Re: Norton AntiVirus???
Funny thing is that I don't use any antivirus software because the good one slows my computer down. I can't handle that. If I get a virus I know the symptoms and how to cure it, well as long as it doesn't really mess up my hard drive.

At work, we have mandated anti-virus. Man, does it slow down the computer! Sometimes, the PC will just sit there for a while, while it waits for the AV to check through the files it just checked two minutes ago....
