what would you do...?

This guy that works with me who is about 10 yrs older then me (hes not a kid) says to me after 3 consecutive mtgs..."where are you going for lunch?" I said out with my husband. So he says "where"? I said "probably like mcdonalds for a bite and to the bank". He then proceeds to ask if I could get him something bc hes starved. I said "fine". He told me he'd give me the money when I got back. Myself and the other social worker were sitting in my office with his mcdonalds on my desk ( which I paid 6 dollars for) and he said "thanks". When he left we both looked at one another. What does he mean "thanks". Ummm hello ....my dh didnt take me out for lunch so I could go pay for your lunch. The other social worker told me to leave him a voicemail asking for my 6 dollars but he didnt return the call. Its not even about the 6 bucks ...its about the respect. I didnt have to go out on MY break and get him food. I want the money back bc IMO I did him a favor. How would you go about getting it back now?

I would walk up to him tomorrow at work and ask him for the money.

That is so RUDE of him!

I would tell him you want the money. And if you don't want to do it face to face, write an email. And never get him lunch again. Really some people are such azzes.

I wouldn't send him anymore e-mails, I would go to him and tell him that you were nice enough to get him lunch the other day and would like your 6 bucks back!!

Well, since you asked what I would do, I'll be honest.
I would just forget the 6 bucks and quietly curse him everytime I saw him for the rest of the time I worked with him.

I'd tell him he owes me $6 and not to ask me to bring him lunch again since he can't cough up the money when it gets there.

I'd either ask him for it or wait until the next time he asks you to get him something. Then I'd respond "sure, you're paying since you owe me from the last time".
