Jury Duty - Is this going to be a problem???

I just got notice today that I need to report to jury duty September 19th. I am moving September 28th and won't have residence in NY after then.

Am I going to have a problem? Should I say something or just go and see what happens?

you have to go. but you can tell them you're moving when you get there.

you could postpone your summons. When they call you again, you'll have already moved.

That's what I would do. You can always get an initial postponement, and you can't serve if you're not a resident in that area. Even if they do send you a follow-up notice, just mail them back and say you are not a NY resident anymore.

Sounds like a good idea...just nervous they will somehow manage to make me come back. I guess I need to get my name on some bills to prove my new residency.
