I have PCOS and have gainedd more wait than I would've liked to over the years. I'm definitely trying to lose as much as I healthily can before getting PG. Thought I should share this, even though it's depressing.

Re: Did anyone see this on AOL today?
I did and I responded on the NFR thread addressing the same article. I will say it again:
I just read this article too and it is scary though it makes a lot of sense. There are going to be risks with C-sections because there are risks to any surgery in general - even a tooth extraction.
As for obesity, that also makes sense. It is common knowledge that an obese person, male or female, it at risk for many health problems that can lead to death. Surgery on an obese person is very risky for doctors to perform especially with an increased likelihood of heart attack. If the person has diabetes, it is also possible that the person has heart disease. There is obesity, heart disease and diabetes through out my family and it scares the heck out of me.
I think it is really important to be as healthy as possible going into a pregnancy and decrease risks whenever possible - for the mother and the child.
A C-section is surgery. That is the surgery I was referring to above.
It IS depressing like the OP said and it is scary. My GYN always expressed concern about my weight as did my PCP when I was obese. I wasnt thinking in terms of TTC or pregnancy, but I knew intellectually that being heavy and pregnant is not ideal and needed to make changes for my future.
