nursing assistant?
is anyone a nursing assistant? where did you get your certification? whats the average salary? tia!

I was a na for 10 years they pay has gone up great in the nursing homes. in the hosptails it's not all that great but great benifits. It's a hard job i will not lie but it's a great job at the same time. i got my cert at boces. hth

I'm not, but i talk with a bunch of them (i'm going for my RN). Hospitals pay more than nursing homes- around $16+/hr hospital, $14+/hr nursing home (though, thats comparing a nassau hospital and suffolk nursing home... i think its generally the same across the board). I think Winthrop offers the cert course- i'd say to call HR at local hospitals to find out.
