BCP manipulation question

I am on Yaz. This month instead of getting my period I just skipped the sugar pills and went straight to the next months worth of pills.

Now I have a week of pills left - but I just calculated that I will have my period when I go away - soooo... can I skip my last week of pills and just take the sugar pills so I can get my period this week instead?

Does anyone know if this will work?

For me, anytime I missed a couple of pills in a row I'd get my period.

But, I think you can just skip the inactive (sugar) pills again and you will skip your period for the month.

Ive honestly never done it before to get my period a week early so I dont know if you could do that. This summer I have skipped the last week of each pack so I didnt get my period. Call your gyno and ask.

I am on yasmin and I skip 3 to 4 months at a time- as per my doc

You might get af early but you might not. Who know's how your body will respond if you stop your pills early. I would call the dr or even call the # that's on the pills (if there is one).

I personally wouldn't do that because you could mess up your cycle for the next month or 2 & you could end up pg.

I think it's better to keep taking the active pills then attempt to bring on AF a week earlier. You might start to ovulate if you skip a week of active pills.

i would think if you did this that you have a very increased chance of getting prego. if you do it, you should not have s e x for 2 weeks, or until youve been on active pills for a week straight. If you miss a week of active pills, you can get prego.

talk to your doctor or check the pamplets, they'll tell you what happens if you miss pills during that week.

I do this all the time...mostly because I am an airhead and forget to take my pills for days at a time. It's fine...
I did it for my wedding and honeymoon...

If you skip a week of active pills you will more than likely have breakthough bleeding. Also, you have a good chance of getting pregnant so I would use a back up method.

Is Yaz a monophasic pill?
(meaning the active pills all have the same levels of hormones?)

If so, then it is OK to stop them early and get your period early. You can then add those pills onto your next pack if you want to.

If it is a tri-phasic pill then you shouldnt do it.
