Re: switchplates

We have plain white ones for now. I am starting this fall to do each room. We have odd switches, so I need to truly look for plates I like

Re: switchplates

I have some antique looking switchplates that I bought at Violet's Blue in Sayville. I don't have any phots but they look like an old fashioned piece of dentelle molding. HTH

Re: switchplates

We have a mix. House came with plain white ones Chat Icon . When I painted the kitchen, DS's bedroom and stairwell, I bought unpainted wooden ones, and painted them to match the trim paint. For one bathroom, I bought clear plastic ones that you can insert paper. I cut out sections of the wallpaper border that I had in the bathroom, so the switches match the border. DD has a brushed brass coverplate (I didn't make or modify that one...

I got the plain wooden ones and the plastic insert ones from HD.

Re: switchplates

With the exception of the bathroom - which is white - everything else is made by Hamilton in Brushed Nickel (shown in bronze patina)

Otherwise, I have switchplates to match the walls so they don't stick out.

Re: switchplates

I decoupaged some plastic ones once I saw the prices for decorative ones. I'll take some pics:

Cute! - I can't believe you made those!

I have a mix of white and decorative. I actually found some really cute decorative ones at Target of all places!

From time to time, they even get marked down really cheap - you just have to look!

Re: switchplates

In the rooms that are straight painted we painted the white outlets to blend into the walls. In the rooms with a faux finish, the switchplates got fauxed as well

Re: switchplates

We've done the kitchen, hallway and our bedroom so far. We are getting new switchplates as we redo rooms! We got them all at Home Depot.

Re: switchplates

If you don't mind my asking, we have the same switchplates (lower one) in our bedroom and can't find lamps that we like. Where did you get the lamps that match the switchplate?

Thanks!

Hmmm.... good question! lol. We've had them at least 3 years - I want to say Bed, Bath & Beyond.
