What kind of sink strainer do you have?
Yup, quiet night.
Basket with plunger (that never works for me)
Or mesh basket (which I have found to be so much better)

I use the mesh basket one
It so easy to clean in the garbage pail then throw it into the dishwasher

OXO silicone strainer:
You can pull the middle up and all of the icky stuff comes right out!

OMG, I am IN LOVE with the silicone collanders that do that. Every time I see them at BB&B, I'm like a zombie - "muuuuust haaaaave that straaaaaainer." But I can't justify spending $20 on a new collander when I have a perfectly good one at home.
I'll just put it on the bridal registry and keep my fingers crossed.

we just got a mesh one.
I need to get a new sink protector though-- we have an odd shaped sink and noting seems to fit right. Larger ones are pretty expensive though-- surprisingly enough.

I hated the one that came with the apartment, so I stored it away and purchased a mesh one. I love it. Loved it so much, I told the IL's to get themselves one too.
