1st Appointment?
I had my 1st pregnancy appointment last week and my Dr. did not take any blood...is that normal???? I go back in 3 weeks, but shouldn't a blood sample have been one of the first things??

I had my first appointment today and was expecting the same...but nothing..just a sonogram, discussions of the pregnancy plan, what to eat, what medications are ok and a discussion regarding down syndrome testing.

For my first appt, I went for a yearly appt and told them I had gotten a BFP. That day they gave me a referral for the lab work. I would call and check with the nurse or Dr at the office. It may also have to do how far along you are, when I got my first blood work done, I was about 7w3d.

At my first visit I dont think they took any blood either... maybe 1 vial. It was the next visit after the first sono that they did the prenatal blood testing which they took like 6-7 vials.

 I think I might  I can't even handle 2 when I get my yearly physical!!
