Hi I'm new to this board
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this board, and I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind giving me some info.
DH and I have been talking about TTC. I have been on the pill for about a year. Have you guys all heard that you need to be off the pill for 3 months before TTC?
Don't worry, I plan to go to my doctor. I just want to know if I should get off the pill an extra 3 months early.
Thanks.

Welcome! I don't know what the protocol is but I have a friend that stopped the pill TTC and was pregnant the following month. So I am not sure if it matters or not. XOXOXO Kitty

Re: Hi I'm new to this board
I have never used BCP but from what I have read many women go off 3 months before TTC. I have also heard of women getting pg the month right after stopping BCP. Good luck and welcome.

I think the 3 month recommendation is so that you become aware of your cycle and can time when you ovulate.

My Dr. told me to be off of BCP for one month to get one "natural" period so he would be able to time the conception and due date more accuratley. I think it depends on everyone's opinions and thoughts. Each Dr. is different. I know plenty of people that got pg immediately after stopping BCP, and all was fine with them.

Mine said the same thing. He also said that being on the pill has no bearing on how long it will take you to conceive. The pill doesn't make things difficult, rather it masks what your cycles may have been if you were not on it. Some have long cycles and some have short ones. Some have textbooks cycles and many do not. Before I went on the pill, I was pretty irregular and that was when I was 21. I am now 37 and they are textbook. Go figure
GOOD LUCK!!!
