can you breastfeed and be on the pill?
i was talking with a friend of mine and this topic got brought up.. is it safe..? I am totally not sure?

this is what my obgyn told me: with most pills there is a slight chance that you will have a smaller milk supply... so she prescribed me a mini pill, you have to take it at the same time every day, cant even be late by 2 hours...

You can... and you can also get PG.
That is a big misconception and women get PG thinking that breastfeeding alone is contraceptive.

yes, at the BF class I just took the instructor said you can ovulate and not get your period too!!

There is a pill called Micronor that is safe to take while breastfeeding.

you can take the progesterone only pill ("mini pill").
although i know a woman who got pregnant while breast feeding AND on the mini pill!!!

I would only take the pill while breastfeeding if it were to control my periods. So, if I were not getting periods, I would not take the pill. I would not assume I can't get pregnant, though and I would find another birth control method temporarily. I would prefer not to take the pill and breastfeed, but I have have had to take the pill to control my periods before.
