Morning Sickness
Hi Everyone,
I just found out on Wednesday that I was pregnant. The doctor said over the phone that I maybe 4-5 weeks pregnant. The only symptoms that I have so far are very tender breasts and the little cramping that feels like pulls in my abdomen. I am also getting up three times in a night to go to the bathroom. I am not experiencing morning sickness yet. Is it still to early? I feel a little bit nauseous in the early morning but that is it. Also I have an amazing sense of smell. So the question is when did morning sickness kick in for everyone?
PS - Could going to the gym lessen those symptoms?
Thanks a bunch everyone - I am a nervous wreck since this is my first.

Re: Morning Sickness
My m/s didn't hit until week 7. It lasted until the 12th week. Maybe you will be lucky and not get it!
I have no idea if exercise helps because I didn't do it before I got pg so the dr said not to start.
Welcome and Congratulations!

Re: Morning Sickness
Congrats!!!
My MS didn't kick in til about 6 weeks.
I was going to the gym up until that point, but usually along with MS comes exhaustion. So I stopped when I started feeling sick.
Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones.

Re: Morning Sickness
It started at almost exactly 6 weeks, and at 12w3d I'm only now starting to feel a bit better.
But like Sweetie said, not everyone gets m/s.
It's best to have something in your stomach at all times. Have some crackers by the bed and eat a few before you even get up if you feel nauseaus. As far as the gym, not sure about that but ask your dr.
Here's that it bypasses you altogether!
Congratulations and may you have a happy and healthy nine months.

Re: Morning Sickness
i didn't get morning sickness until 6-7 weeks. it started subsiding at 12 weeks and was gone by about 16-17 weeks.
i don't think exercise has anything to do with it. i worked out regularly before getting pregnant and went for daily walks throughout the morning sickness and i was still VERY sick!

Re: Morning Sickness
Im 9w and haven't had "morning sickness" I feel nauseous on & off all day and the only thing that gets rid of it is eating something I'm too tired to contemplate anything other then swimming & walking to be honest and even that makes me tired

Re: Morning Sickness
My m/s didn't kick in until week 6--exactly to the day! I'm 9w3d and still feeling it. As most of the other posts mentioned some people don't get it at all...Luck B****** LOL!
I'm not sure about the gym though-when my m/s is really bad it does help me to keep my body moving-but I'm not a huge exerciser so I'm no help there!
Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months! Congrats!

Re: Morning Sickness
Congratulations! I started getting nauseous at all different point of the day at around the 6th week. I also started getting really bad food aversions at this point. It stopped getting nauseous and my appetite returned at about 16 weeks.
I remember that before I took a home pregnancy test and I thought I might be pregnant I had such a profound sense of smell. My sensitivity to smell is a little less now, but I could not take any smells my first and some of my second trimesters. I begged my 9th graders to not put on so much cologne and perfume. I also did not let them take out any of those smelly lotions during class. My DH even had to stop wearing cologne. :

Re: Morning Sickness
I never got morning sickness - some people don't. Actually the more I talked to people, the more I found out didn't get any morning sickness. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones!
