Re: are you taking an enema before delivery?

I did an enema only once in my life but it was not bad at all. It was for a sigmoidoscopy.

I would do one if I were delivering vaginally but, like other posters, I have heard that women get diarhea either just before or during early labor. I would not want to have an enema at a time that happened to coincide with diarhea anyway. That could change my take on enemas!

Honestly, I would not care about pooping in a place where people are known to poop. I guess I'd play it by ear, or play it by anus.

I just chimed in to say that I did not think that doing an enema itself was such a terrible experience, and I am normally an "exit, one way only" kind of girl.
