The Pact - Jodi Picoult
Just finished and boy do I feel like I just wasted the past week reading that book.
It was way to drawn out for the outcome, I feel.
What do you think?

Re: The Pact - Jodi Picoult
That was the first book I read of hers. I liked it enought that it made me read all of her other books. I never really understood Emily and why she wanted to die. I get the entire crazy man in the bathroom scene but I just felt like there should have been more....

Re: The Pact - Jodi Picoult
I totally agree! I kind of took it as since she couldn't deal with getting an abortion because the doctor reminded her of the crazy guy in the bathroom she felt there was no other way out. Plus she felt she never quite connected to Chris as he did to her. She couldn't separate the brother sister relationship from the romantic relationship. She felt she would be bound to Chris forever and wasn't sure that's what she really wanted.
Don't get me wrong, I love Jodi Picoult and I have 19 minutes waiting in the wing to be read. I was just semi disappointed with this book.

I liked "The Pact" but IMO, her best book is "Nineteen Minutes."

I thought 19 minutes was great (read it twice) but by far I thought My Sister's Keeper was the best. Everytime I read it I cry.

Re: The Pact - Jodi Picoult
Right now I'm reading The Lovely Bones. I should be done with it by tomorrow thanks to my very relaxing weekend.
I let my SIL borrow 19 minutes because I wasn't ready to read it. But I have been hearing great reviews!
Although I do feel My Sister's Keeper will always be my number 1 written by Jodi Picoult!

Re: The Pact - Jodi Picoult
I actually LOVED the Pact. I also read My Sister's Keeper, which was very good but I did not love it as much as the Pact. I am starting Nineteen Minutes after I finish my current book.

Re: The Pact - Jodi Picoult
Jess, I have to agree with you that My Sisters Keeper was her best work, but nineteen is right up there with that one!! it is great! The pact was decent. I thought it was a good read, not one of her bests works, but it was not her worst!!!
