new to ttc
Hi - I've been on lif for a little while, but I want to officially join the ttc board. We've been preparing mentally and I finally went off the pill in march. started using condoms to give my body some time to adjust getting off the pill. I am a little concerned though since I had been on the pill for a long time for posible policystic ovarian syndrome, which also means I might have trouble conceiving.
But anyway, i'm reading the Shettles book, mainly for fertility purposes, and honestly I feel a little overwhelmed. What did you ladies think about it?

Welcome!!
Have you spoken to you doctor? Why do they think you might have PCOS? If this is a possibility, I recommend you go to the dr. and start getting treatment NOW. Otherwise when you are ready, this will put you months or more behind.
I don't know anyhing about shettles, sorry.

i basically was diagnosed with it, but a really long time ago. and i agree I need to take a trip to my dr/gyn asap.

How have your cycles been since you went off bcp? Regular?
Definitely make an appointment with your doctor, he/she can set you up with prenatals and will probably order some updated testing because of your PCOS diagnosis.
FYI, depending on how aggressive you want to be, since you've been diagnosed with PCOS your insurance may pay for immediate treatment with an RE.

Welcome and good luck!
I don't know much about shettles but I found TYCOF(taking charge of your fertility) to be interesting and helpful in learning about conceiving.

I didn't read shettles....... But I can say GOOD LUCK to you...it sounds like you are doing all the right things, and I wish you a short stay on this board!
