Sorry to go one about this but parasite question...
This all started also when DH and I were finishing our pond. I was in the water placing the rock in the pond. I have heard that the rock can carry parasites.
Has anyone ever heard of this? Just wondering if a parasite like this can cause my severe itching.
I go Friday to the Dr but until then I am trying to rack my brain of environmental changes etc.

There are little worms in the water of the pond, but they die as soon as they leave the water. They feed off the algae and fish droppings. They shouldn't cause any kind of itching though. Have you changed soaps or moisturizers.

a parasite wouldn't cause your whole body to itch. Parasites will generally cause GI problems.

If you have a filter, check it out in a few weeks, you should find red worms, called Tubifex worms, they are a sign that your pond is hitting a good balance.
Our pond had leeches in it, their eggs can sometimes be on plants...I know this because I had the fantastic idea to go wading in it one summer (years ago) and when I got out...a leech had attached itself to my leg. Icky.
Could your itching be partly psychosomatic? I know when I think too much about something (especially itching) it actually itches more!!!
