Bisphenol-A in bottles
I just switched all my bottles from avent to born free because they aren't made with the chemical. Unfortunately, they are more expensive.
Has anyone switched for this reason ??

Re: Bisphenol-A in bottles
I originally was going to use the avent or the Dr. Browns but after doing a lot of research I decided on going wit the born free. I don't understand why there would be a potentially harmful chemical in anything espcailly for a baby. I am actually on my way to BBB to pick them up because BRU does not carry them in the store only online.

I was going to do the same but I felt like there were not enough reviews on the Born Free and I want to BF and supplement with these.

I did.. I'm using the evenflo glass bottles- way cheaper than born free (we use the born free sippy cups though). believe it or not- the glass ones are VERY sturdy- the only time we had a breakage was when I dropped it in my cast iron sink (which breaks everything).

I am not too worried. I still plan on using Avent since they have been around for a while. The food we are going to feed our babies later when they can eat is going to be way more of a danger based on the chemicals and hormones our fruits and vegetables are exposed to.

Agreed. I registered for Avent and Dr. Brown's bottle since they've both gotten great reviews...I just want to be prepared for the ones which my little guys likes best.

Re: Bisphenol-A in bottles
I spoke to two L&D nurses about this not too long ago and they both told me to stick with Avent. So I guess I am sticking with AVent for the time being.

one of my closest friends is a pediatrician and she highly recommends Dr.Brown's - used them with her twins. i'd think if you are sterilizing them it shouldn't be a problem

These were my lifesaving bottles for gas and spitup. I plan on using them again.

Re: Bisphenol-A in bottles
I said this on your Parenting post, but Playtex Drop-ins are also BPA free -- I started using them for this reason. You can also pump directly into them. I thought the Born Free ones were way too expensive. Glass is another good option.
