Vegas info, anyone?

I'm sad to say that I think my parents have given up on their anniversary cruise (supposed to leave Monday, out of Ft Lauderdale, and visit key west, cozumel, and belize.)

Last night, they were checking into booking a last minute Vegas trip instead - they've never been there.

Any suggestions? Where to stay? Must see shows?

TIA

'O' is an amazing show if they can get last minute tickets.

I have stayed at the MGM grand, Hard Rock, Harrahs, Palms, Luxor, stratosphere, LV hilton...of all I really like the MGM grand the best...but really any of the hotels are nice.

Re: Vegas info, anyone?

OHHHH VEGAS is my Favorite. I think any of the hotels are nice along the "strip"

We stayed in the venetian and Ill tell you didnt love their staff. It is a beautiful hotel though. Modeled after Venice Italy. Complete with Gondola rides and all.

The Bellagio is also a beautiful Hotel. Beautiful fountains outside that have a a show every half hour (I think).

Theres Paris that has a Eiffel Tower.

Mandalay Bay has one of the best pools.

TI (was treasure Island) Has a pirate theme they used to have a pirate show but changed it and now its called Sirens. All girls.

The Mirage. Volcano at front that actually erupts.

We have stayed at Harrahs. We go there in A.C. So we sometimes get comped rooms in Vegas.

Harrahs also owns a hotel off the strip called The Rio. This is the best hotel ive ever stayed in. Loved it. And the staff was truly amazing. The have show and parade with floats that go along the ceiling. Although its off the strip I will stay there again. BUT for first time visitors I would recomend staying on the strip. The Rio is also by The Palms (aka Las Vegas Real World). There is a shuttle that goes back and forth from Harrahs and Rio.

Ceasers Palace.

Then there is MGM Never stayed there and I prefer like I guess Midstrip (?) Theres also Ballys and The alidan (is it still there) and aslo NYNY.

Tell them if they decide to go have a GREAT TIME! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

They can go downtown (the cat bus will take ya) to Freemont street. Thats were all the older casinos are. And at night they have cool light show.

When we went for our Honeymoon we saw Penn and Teller. "O" is in the belagio Celine Dion is playing at Ceasers. There lots of shops in Ceasers allidan and the venetian.

I stayed at MGM and loved it. The spa there is sooooooo nice. There are great restaurants and shops. It is a big casino, but if you have an upgraded room you can stay in the tower that is closet to the strip entrance so you don't have to walk through the casino.

I stayed at Bally's and wasn't impressed with the room. The spa was nice though.

I agree with tickets to see "O". Old vegas is nice to see. If they are interested they could take a day trip to Hoover Dam.

Re: Vegas info, anyone?

If they can get a room at Bellagio I would go with that hands down.

Re: Vegas info, anyone?

We went to Vegas in August and had a fantastic time. We stayed at The Golden Nugget in Downtown Vegas. The rooms were really nice and only 90.00 per night! We like downtown b/c we can gamble more there. The tables do not have as high a minimums as the strip!

Maybe they can book there and then stay in a less expensive hotel for those few nights. Chat Icon
