condo homeowners insurance
I'm full of questions today!
Our bank called and mentioned that for the loan commitment, since it was a condo, they didn't need our personal insurancy policy info on the condo, just a copy of the condo association's policy.
That got me thinking... will my homeowner's insurance be less since it's a condo and not a single family home? The condo has insurance to cover the structure and a fire policy for the structure and bathroom / kitchen fixtures. Will our personal policy exclude the things covered by the condo policy? I can't imagine you can have double coverage...
It's a townhome (2 stories with a full basement), so I guess I assumed it would cost the same... which thinking about that now was silly...

Re: condo homeowners insurance
It is a lot less than for single family home. My insurance agent just quoted me $363 per YEAR.

Re: condo homeowners insurance
Your insurance should be really cheap....its like a renters policy....covering pretty much your personal belongings...

Re: condo homeowners insurance
our condo insurance is very cheap. All you need to insure is your contents, so depending on what that is, it probably isn't too much. But be sure to put your engagement/wedding ring on your policy!

Yse, we'll be putting all the jewelry on there. Right now we have a separate policy for my e-ring... which sounds like it costs the same (or more!) as most people's condo insurance!
