Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions
someone i know just found out they are PG also and she has been feeling like she was going to get AF also, so yes I think that is normal.
I'm not PG, but as far as I know decaf is fine! Congratulations :)

Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions
I have no idea about the cramping..... but the decaf coffee should be fine
water-processed decaf (as found in more expensive coffee shops) is much healthier than standard decaf (such as diner coffee), which uses a lot of chemicals to remove the caf.
when you buy beans, water processed is always stated on the bag, since they like to brag
congrats again!

Is there any way your doctor could see you any earlier? It seems like you have a lot of concerns and questions that the doctor could help you with. That might help you feel better.

Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions
If I may...
Congrats to you!
Decaf is fine. In moderation. Everything in moderation!
I saw your other post about drinking alcohol. You're only about 4 weeks along, right? I believe it's ~6 weeks gestation when your baby begins to share your bloodstream, so no worries.
August 10th is just around the corner. At that appt, you'll be 6-7 weeks, so you and DH will be able to see your Peanut's heartbeat. It's a beautiful thing. If you were to go to your Dr. sooner, you may not see it and it could cause needless worry.
No unpasteurized cheeses. Fresh mozz is a no-no. Of course, you can have the packaged stuff.
All the best for a Happy & Healthy 9 months!!

Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions

Actually, I think we conceived on either July 6 (Friday) or 7 (Saturday). We were figuring things out last night.
Which is so weird because I had gone to the Doctor on Friday to let her know I went off the pill and we were going to start TTC.
So, it is has been 18 days about 2 1/2 weeks.
I think I am going to call and see if I can talk to my Dr or a nurse.
Another thing is I decided to switch Doctors, not because I don't like mine, I wanted somewhere closer to work.
So, I am going back to where I used to go. The reason I left if because my Dr used to work their and I followed her, but it is too far.
Now you know my life story, all these thoughts are just racing through my mind.
Oops... hit enter too soon.
PG weeks start from your LMP (last menstrual period). So, if your LMP was June 22nd, you'd be 4w5d today.

If you want you can also call the doctors office - they are always soooo helpful when you call

Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions
I know a friend of mine when she got PG she was very crampy for the first few weeks. I think it is normal to not have a Dr. appointment till 8 weeks or so because they won't be able to see the fetus on the sonogram until then.
You should ask questions on the PG board- they have all BTDT!

Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions
First, CONGRATS!!!!!! Sticky vibes to you.
I think DH and I conceived on July 7, too! So you and I are probably in the same boat.
I have my first doctor's appt. on August 6.
Like everone else said, if you feel nervous or concerned and have lots of questions, I'm sure you could call your doctor, or even ask if there's any way you could go in sooner, if it would make you feel better. I've been making a list of questions for my first appointment as I think of them, so I won't forget to ask anything.
Welcome!

I forgot to mention that I'm crampy and bloated, too. SOO bloated. The cramps are minor and come and go... I think it's normal

Okay, I am sorry I am not coming out. Only DH and I know and we are still just getting our minds wrapped around this.
I tested again this morning with the Clear Blue and it was Pregnant, so that is 4 out of 4.
I have one more test left and I am going to test tomorrow morning too.
I made an appt for August 10. Doesn't that seem really far away? Is that normal?
This morning I walked into the place I get my coffee. I got a decaf instead.
Is it okay to drink decaf?
I feel so crampy, like I am about to get my 'friend'. I keep thinking I am going to get it. Is this normal?
The appointment is not too far away. It is common for Drs to wait a couple of weeks, b/c they cannot even see a heart beat on the sono until 6 weeks (or sometimes even longer). Decaf is OK, but staying away from caffeine altogether is best. There is still caffeine in decaf.
I also felt AF-like cramps in the beginning & pretty much through the whole 1st trimester. I looked every time I wiped

Re: Still in shock, but I have more questions
Congrats! Try to avoid caffiene, deli meats, hot dogs, soft cheese, fish that are high in mercury (sea bass, seared tuna, etc). Mozzerella cheese is fine. Basically any pastuerized cheese is fine even if it is soft. Limit your shell fish to once a week.... HTH!
