looking back on the past...
as the years go by do u look back on past situations..work related issues, family drama, breakups, lost loves... jobs u lost out on... anything that u were confused by the outcome at the time... do u look back on it and now in the present time it makes sense as to why it happened and went down the way it did

Re: looking back on the past...
Absolutely. There were so many hard times. I often wondered where life was taking me and why it seemed to be a harder path than everyone else's. Looking back on it, every tear shed is worth my life today. I don't even regret all the bad things, because while I may have lost out on a "thing", like a love or a job, the lessons really stayed with me...So I don't think I really lost at all. And I know that must sound like the corniest line of bull$hat you ever heard, but it's true.
I hope that in the future when I have more bad times, that I remember that it really DOES work out in the end.

Mich, everything happens for a reason...look at you - you never would've met your new darling if things had been differently!
YOUR job is waiting for you out there - you'll find it soon enough!! much love.

Re: looking back on the past...
Definitely. I look back at events or things that happened in my life - good or bad and I can see that they happened for a reason and got me to where I am today. I learned so much about the people in my life and myself from them.

Re: looking back on the past...
absolutely!!!
As for men- If I hadn't dated so many losers, I wouldn't have decided to change what I look for and never woudl have gone for DH. 6 1/2 years later its crazy to believe there were once other men.
On the job front- I was looking for a new job forever. I had an interview and it went really well- I had the 2nd interview that same day. I really wanted the job because the pay was so much better than mine. I had the 3rd interview, but instead of meeting with the person I was supposed to (and done all my research on), I met with someone else. They also kept me waiting 30 minutes and i was worried abotu coming back from lunch late to my job. Well I totally blew the interview - and i knew it. When I got the rejection I cried and cried... I spoke to a friend who asked why I wanted the job and I realize I didn't even like the work I would be doing and felt a little unethical representing insurance companies.
Well about 6 months later I got my current job which is A LOT more pay, less hours, completely ethical and lots of freedom. So it all worked out.

Re: looking back on the past...
Men- I have a couple relationships that ended that still confuse me. Finally I had to tell myself that I'd never understand because otherwise I'd make myself nuts, and overlook what I have with DH, which is much, much better than anything I ever had.
Jobs- I've been teaching in NYC for almost ten years after trying very hard to get something on LI. The city job was sort of my consolation prize and I never meant to do it long-term. But now I can't imagine being in a different environment. It's challenging, but I am good at it and feel comfortable here, as unexpected as it is. This is where I am meant to be.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I used to dwell on the past ALOT and try to analyize what factors could have altered the result. It used to make me crazy. Now, I just try to accept things and move on and rationalize the end result instead of looking into other outcomes.

i try not to dwell on it and just put faith that God has placed me where I need to be when I needed to be there.
