Nieghbors are slobs- what should i do
I came home yesterday to find all of this trash in my neighborhood in front of and on the lawns of these 4 houses. I mean A LOT of garbage. Yesterday was paper pickup so the garbage washed down the hill with all the rain.
These people have had trash on their lawns before and they never pick it up, I do.
Bascially these people just don't take pride in their property.
Well, I've decided that rather than just complain about it I'm going to clean it up.
The thing is I want to leave a sassy note in their mailbox but I'm not sure what I want to say. Any ideas?

If its really an eyesore and a lot of garbage, you can call your town to complain. They might be violating town codes.

i would say to them that normally you would not care about how messy their house is on the outside.. but it becomes your problem when you have to pick up their trash on your property. it's not fair.. it's not your job to be picking up their trash.. esp. if it's not your property!

Well, I took matters into my own hands. I went home on my lunch break and filled up 4 huge garbage bags.
I called the town and asked for a street sweeper to clean up the smaller debris. I also left this note in each of their mailboxes:
This is the story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry because it was Somebody's job.
Everybody thought Somebody could do
it but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it
It ended that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done!
Take pride in your property and clean up the trash!

Its a great letter, but honestly, if they didn't care before, chances are they aren't going to care now. If it happens again I would call the town to slap a litter violation on them. A fine will have a lot more influence than a letter, in most cases.
