Also, I've noticed that older generations, unless they want to get something specific (like the stroller, car seat, etc) don't even like registries.

This was very true for me. My great-aunts all refused to go shopping with my grandma when she offered.

They "didn't like being told where to shop".

But they all got me really cute things.

HOW can people NOT buy off
*** do they get then!

Listen, I am NOT flaming you, but just because you have a registry doesn't mean that people are going to or have to buy off of it. Some of the best stuff I got at my shower I would never have thought to register for, or I registered for something different.

Yeah, it is great when people buy off your registry, but a gift should be appreicated for the sentiment, not because you picked it vs. the gift buyer purchasing it.

I didn't think you wereChat Icon EVER!
I am saying you need xx xx and xxx how can people not get atleast the main items?
Maybe bc I have so many people comming I am saying to myself how would they know what I need?

Well, I think people have a tendency to buy things that may have worked well for them/their sister/best friend, etc. As annoying as that may be, usually that is why people don't buy off the registry.

Also, I've noticed that older generations, unless they want to get something specific (like the stroller, car seat, etc) don't even like registries.

Like I said, you will get everything you need, and if you don't, I am sure you will get gift cards to help. And you can always return

:) thanks

I usually buy stuff off the registry BUT I also like to buy stuff for a 1st time Mommy that I know are good products and have worked for me....

EXAMPLE: Those bibs with the canal in them...they are plastic and look a little weird but they catch all the peas and cheerios and stuff and really cut down on the food that falls on the floor. First time mommy might think that they look ridiculous BUT they are a great product.

You see, I would TOTALLY appreciate this! Just because we register for things, doesn't mean that we're entitled to receive them...I mean its a nice gesture to give your guests a "hint" but I don't think anyone is obligated to purchase things from the registry...to me, when it is a thoughtful gift and comes from the heart, means more than anything in this world.
