I would if I was having a big party for my birthday, anniversary, etc..
ETA: after my wedding, many family members went to my registry and bought me Christmas gifts from there..I think it helps take off some of the stress that comes with buying gifts..around the holidays..

Anniversary registries actually seem to be popular.
I kind of like the idea of a running wish list. I have to admit, for my next 2 birthdays and Christmases (which are only 3 days apart) after I got married, whenever anyone asked what I wanted, I told them that I still wanted the things from my bridal registry.

Call me weird, but, on one part, I think it's such a great idea, especially because I know what a hassel it is for me when my kids have birthday parties to go to and I have to call and harass the mom or dad about what to get their DC but at the same time, I feel that I couldn't bring myself to create a registry for my own kids. I know this may sound stupid.

I agree...I do think it is cute for a kids Birthday party, but I think for your own birthday and anniversary is a bit too much

only baby/bridal.
Amazon.com has been doing this for years - Rich's cousin always creates a wish list and emails it to family members.
