Do you find that expensive candles, like Yankee, are worth the money? Do you find that cheaper ones are just as good (and if you know brand names, please share!)

Just wondering- I am a Yankee candle girl but they can add up!

I like only the spicy scents or fruity ones, so I'll buy whatever. The floral scents give me a headache. I like PartyLite and Yankee, but can't always spend the money.

Re: Scented candle poll

I picked up one at Walmart...it was a Green Tea and something scented...really nice!

Then at Dollar General I picked up a small jar one called Clean Cotton or Linen...it's white and it smells SO good!

Walmart has the big 3 wick ones for $4.88 and I'm debating the pumpkin spice or apple pie one for the fall.

The ones at Kohls smell really good and are good quality. They also have a ton of different scents.

i don't think of Yankee candles as expensive..

But i mix it up between candles at Bath & Body, White Barn and Colonial Homes

I really don't care for Yankee candles

But bed, bath and beyond is always having sales so maybe you should check that out

I love them!! I have a bunch of scents from there. I agree -they smell really good and I think they are just as good as the yankee ones.

i get whatever smells good.
i have a few yankee candles, but overall, i'm not a fan of YC because they give me a headache, and can be too over powering (but i do like the cinnamon stick and applie pie).

my favorite candle is a Vanilla one from Longaberger (we got it as a gift). it smells AWESOME, and we actually get compliments on how good it smells whenever people come over. it really is the Best smelling vanilla that i've ever smelt Chat Icon

I love Votivo - especially Mandarin and Red Currant. Also like the Bath & Body/Bendel's candles, and lately, Molton Brown.

Re: Scented candle poll

I thought for a while that the cheapies did the same job, but they just don't. My current favorite is from Pier 1- Biscotti, it smells sooo good and is probably mid range in price.

I forgot about Pier 1 for candles- I used to have the best incense from there, I should see if they still have it.
