Joggers?
Do you find it easier to jog on a treadmill, or outside? DH and I were talking about this last night, and he said it's harder outside...I don't really see the difference other than there being hills and stuff outside.

Re: Joggers?
I go so much further in distance on the treadmill. I think because I stay at a consistant pace, where outside, I am kind of all over the place.

Re: Joggers?
I used to jog all the time in high school (kicking myself for ever stopping) and I ALWAYS found it easier to jog outside. The treadmill gave me shin splits and got so boring where as when I was outside I always had something new to look at to pass the time. I dispise the treadmill...

Re: Joggers?
When I first started to run it was outside. I can't stand the treadmill. It gets boring and monotonous to me. The elements can make it harder to run outside but I still like it better. I actually run the Sunken Meadow boardwalk and the high school track. They are softer than the pavement, and both are better for your joints because they absorb shock alittle better. Also the wind resistace is great outside, you can't get that on a treadmill.

Re: Joggers?
I like the outside but I always find that the temperature is never "right" - its either too hot or too windy. I prefer the treadmill, so I can watch other people and try and keep up and I also like to read magazines...that's how I keep up on the Hollywood dirt.

How do you run and read at the same time? If I could master this I don't think I would mind the treadmill so much..lol

Re: Joggers?
I love the scenery outside, but I keep a better pace inside. If you run a treadmil, to get closer to the intensity of outside (hils, wind) use at least a 1-2 grade.
