Can someone please tell me....
How to relax and let it happen
I finally told my mom today about how we have been trying for 9 months and she told me to stop trying, just relax and let it happen
Now does anyone know how to do this? How do I turn my brain off, forget that I want a baby more then anything, and "let it happen"??? If you do PLEASE let me know! I would love to be able to do this

That is my moms favorite thing, "stop trying to get PG and you will" Oh OK. If it was that easy, my grandma even told me to "fool around" in a car because "stranger things have happened" OK Im 32 my days of bopping in the car are long over!!!

I dont know, you have to know my grandma the 80 yr old prissy Italian woman is telling me to get it on in the car.  I almost died. She said it worked for her friend WAY back in the day. You have to love gram.

My mil says the same thing to me and girls she works with...I told her to stop b/c it is only upsetting us!! People just don't get it!
I don't understand why it isn't so easy to get pg!!  They tell you as a kid not to have sex b/c you can get pg and look how much we are bding and nothing!!
Hopefully this will be our summer!!

The number one key to relaxing is to tell all those who offer said unsolicited advice to shove it up their arse. The second key to relaxing is that after telling said individual to shove it, you go out and have either A) a hot fudge sundae B) a stiff drink or C) both and rant at anyone who will listen about how insensitive those that don't know exactly what you are going through are.

I couldn't get upset. It was funny.
There is no answer I have for you. I can't relax. Trying to relax stresses me out.

Thanks ladies!! Everyone's comments are cracking me up! Some people are SO clueless and I just wish my mom wasn't one of them. She came around a little bit, I think she just needed time to let it all sink in and realize what I was going through.

Oh geez, my mother told me to relax as well. She had NO clue what was going on with RE visits etc. When I finally did get PG she said "see I told you all you had to do was relax" I looked her straight in the eye and with a very nasty tone said "don't go there" Shut her right up!!!

this was probably my biggest pet peeve when trying to conceive.
maybe the advocates of "relaxing" can tell me how the one month i DID conceive was the one in which we were most stressed out - we were both deathly ill and were studying for / taking our medical boards.
i personally would also like to know how some of the most stressed out patients i work with - those who are homeless, jobless, and/or addicted to various drugs - manage to have multiple children.
sure, it's ALL about RELAXING
