Look what we did
We finally got some trees chopped down. DOnt worry tree lovers, we still have a ton of trees. I we cut down dead ones, and the ones smack dab in front of the house.

we are going to move the red maple from up against the house to either the side or the middle of the yard

Looks great - we have a million trees on our property. We are planning on taking as many down as we can afford. You are going to have so much more sunlight.
Was the price reasonable even though this is the "high season" ?
If the tree guy was good, would you mind FM'ing me their phone number.

the landscaper is a "friend of a friend" type thing. He's really great. I'll get the # from FH and FM it to you!

Looks great! Now you can get grass to grow on that patch too, I bet.
I never understood why trees get planted right in front of a house. I guess so the homeowners can see it when they look out the window?
If I were to do that, I'd probably make it a smallish ornamental. Not a huge pine or something.
Anyway, it looks great - congratulations.
