Pre-Natal Vitamins

hey ladies!

DH & I are going to TTC. So I my gyn and she gave me a RX for pre-natals. She prescribed Primacare. Are any of youguys using it? any pros & cons? If you're not using Primacare.. then what are you using?

We have been sorta trying since the HM back in March. We were not timing at that time.. but as of this month we will.

Re: Pre-Natal Vitamins

I use Prima Care and have had no issues. Have been on them since January. Honestly, they have not really had any negative effects on my body, so no complaints here aside from having to remember to take it twice a day. I would say the pros are all the essential vitamins they provide.

Re: Pre-Natal Vitamins

my rx instructions says to take them once a day? i guess that's ok. my gyn gave me a quantity of 90 pills per bottle. so that should last me for 3mths.. my co-worker is taking something else and they only gave her 30 pillls for 1month and has to refill her rx every month.. the only thing is that her co-pay are $50 each time she refills! that's expensive.

oh and good luck!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I just take the Target brand. My doctor said all the prenatals are the same so she doesn't prescribe them b/c its not worth the $$. My plan would cover the cost, but she said just go to Target.

Re: Pre-Natal Vitamins

I use Primacare as well and I haven't had any problems. I had a few samples of other kinds and one of them I hated because it made me burp. But so far so good with primacare and I take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

I take the Target brand while TTC also. I will switch back to the Rx when I'm actually pg again.

I'm taking this, too... just bloating and some cramping. I take them at night to avoid getting nauseus.

I just started taking these too. My prescription says to take 1 a day.

I didn't realize until I got home, my Dr. prescribed me these I used to take Calnate - I usually check before leaving the pharmacy.
