RUDE PERSON VENT !!!

So DH and I just sat w/his life insurance guy (a family friend) b/c we wanted to also get me a policy...so the guy was asking me all kinds of questions to estimate coverage requirements, one of them being my income, and what I think my income will be next year. So I said "well, I'm not sure if I'll be working next year after the baby."

AND HE HAS THE NERVE TO SAY ..."surely your not just going to sit at home???"

I was thinking, EXCUSE ME?? I was speachless...I didn't say anything back (well I said I didnt know)but can you believe him??? WHAT A JERK!! An older guy too, you think he would think it was a good thing I wanted to take care of my baby myself!!! sheesh!

Yes, I'm sure you are planning to hire a live in au pair to care for your baby while you just sit at home and watch TV.

what a dope!!! why would he think that is so insane?? don't listen to him, many people would LOVE to be able to stay at home with their kids. we're still renting and until we are actually in a home of our own that we can afford monthly on DH's salary - i can't stay home otherwise i would in a heartbeat. I never thought i'd want to until i became pg. enjoy it

Yep that's exactly what I do all day...I "sit" home and the kids just magically get fed, bathed, etc....Stay at home moms...we just sit on the couch and eat bon bons all day!!!!
