Progesterone Levels
My friend got a +HPT on Tuesday. She was due for her period that week and decided to test. She went to the dr. on Thursday and they did bloodwork and a sono....they saw no sac. The dr. told her she was either very very early or had an ectopic. Her beta came back at 506 so the dr. said it was probably too early. She went for more blood today and her beta came back at 2100 which is good but her progesterone is only 6.5. On Thursday her progesterone was 8 so it dropped. She has another appt tomorrow for a sono however the dr. didn't seem too optimistic. My question is if they prescribe progesterone suppositories is it possible for her to sustain this pregnancy or are her levels just too low?

Re: Progesterone Levels
It may be but it may not. Sometime, dropping progesterone can be an ominous sign. It has been for me. it can indicate possible miscarriage or ectopic. The good thing is, her hcg is doubling-he should give her vag. suppositories. It can't hurt. Also monitor her hcg carefully. As long as it is rising appropriately she may be OK.

Re: Progesterone Levels
I was told that the number should be 15 or greater. 8 sounds pretty low though. for your friend. I'm not sure how much the suppositories will help.
