Re: asthma advair
My DH uses it everyday. Has been for mths now and his asthma has been fine due to it.
We dont read the warnings. Every med has warnings. Its worth chancing, to breath better.

Re: asthma advair
What do you mean by "black box warning label"? Is this a new warning?
I know the side effects for Advair; I've been lucky that they haven't bothered me. Advair has really made such a difference for me because my asthma was completely out of control.

a black box warning is the highest warning issued by the FDA. basically, its a warning about a specific side effect, but its not "bad enough" to remove the drug from the market (benefits outweigh risks type of thing) this warning is printed on the drug info paper insert that comes with the meds

Thanks for the info! I just googled and found out that there are concerns about Serevent, which is a component of Advair. Some people have died from Serevent, but I know there has also been confusion about people accidently using Serevent for rescue purposes when it is actually a long-acting drug.
To the OP: if you want to read up, google "black box warning" and "advair" but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Re: asthma advair
thanks for the responses. I have been taking advair for years and it works wonders, (only once a day too) but i get concerned with any meds esp something w/ a high warning. but.. i am sure i am fine. mr dr even said i can take it when i get pregnant. so how bad can it be? right! Thanks again for your responses!!
