Switching over utilities
Since we are closing on Monday, we probably need to do this soon, right?
How do I go about switching over whatever they have in their names to our names?
Can anyone help or offer advice?

You should call and tell the companies the date you want it to switch to your name now so there is no discontinuing of the service.

Call LIPA (for electric) and the water company. I am in Suffolk Co so it was Suffolk Country Water Authority. You can look up the numbers online.
Then the only other thing would be gas or oil and you should call companies and find out who has the best deal.
