Dentist while pregnant????
I have a tooth that I KNOW has a cavity. When/if I touch it..it doesn't hurt but it is uncomfortable. Kind of like when something cold hits a tooth that has a cavity.
Can I get a filling done while pregnant? I know I can't have x-rays done..but I hate to just leave it to get worse.
ETA: I'm 32 weeks PG

Re: Dentist while pregnant????
As far as I know, you can. You just have to wait until after your first trimester is over.

I'm 32 weeks..so I think that qualifies me as being over the first trimester right? I'm gonna call them..because I really can't take it anymore!

They give you a different kind of novacaine when you're pregnant. I doesn't have epinephrin (SP?) in it. I had two emergency root canals done last month, so any dental questions, send them my way!

I had a root canal at 16 weeks - no novicane but they did do digital pics. If they do use novicane ask for the one without something starting with "epi" - if you tell them you are preg they will know what you are talking about.

Exactly. They might have to get clearance from your OB to treat you. Feel better
