Re: TMI- about what we all fear....
You HAVE to read Jenny McCarthy's book, she has a whole chapter on it and it's hysterical.
I told DH about it and his face twisted up like a little kid eating spinach!!!
I honestly don't care if it happens. When else can you poop on a table and someone else will clean it up?!

I don't know about this... I mean, I will be embarassed, but I also know it is sooo common. Not to mention, I'll be embarrassed about having my legs sprawled out for everyone in the first place. And with all that pushing, how could you not go #2??
...and if pooping wasn't bad enough, my sister just told me that after delivery she was transferring beds and the nurses were helping her....well, she was passing gas left and right because she couldn't feel down there after the epi...so she couldnt even hold them in !! For some reason, this sounds more embarrasing to me then actually pooping!
please wake me when its over

Re: TMI- about what we all fear....
My friend did the enema thing with her 3rd labor. I wouldn't suggest it. She said it created a huge mess - worse than if she would have forgone it.
I did plan on one but there was no time once I got to the hospital.
Just think of it as the beginning of a lot of poop in your life.

Can someone explain why you would poop on the table?

Because you're using the same muscles you use to poop to push the baby out .. you "bear down" for poop or baby!
