NYC help

I've decided for my bachelorette party I want to go into the city to a nice restaurant. Can anyone recommend some place nice (not TOO expensive)?

Also, I'd like to go out after. But I want something very low key (I'm not much of a drinker). Just some place we can have a good time and hang out all of us girls.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I NEVER go into the city!

Re: NYC help

We went to Butter for my bachelorette, but it can be very expensive. I hosted two bachelorette parties for friends - one at Tony's DiNapoli which is a family style Italian restaurant if you are looking for something laid back. The other was at One Little West 12th which has a great atmosphere and you can stay and dance after 11 (I think). I am hosting another one later this month at Mangia e Bevi which is a popular place for bachelorettes - dancing on tables and such. I also like going to Sushi Samba, Son Cubano and Otto with groups, but have never been for a b-party.

Have fun! I would choose where to go out after depending on where you eat so that you can save $$ on cabs.

Thanks for the suggestions!! What is ONE LITTLE WEST 12th like? What kind of food do they serve? And is there a bar area to hang out at after?

Re: NYC help

Try Aspen restaurant - I think it's on W.22nd Street. They have a restaurant and a large bar area for hanging out afterwards. There's also a cute champagne bar around the corner if you want to move location - Flute Gramercy.

If you're into Mexican, I would second any of the Dos Caminos locations (I've been to them all). I'd also recommend Rosa Mexicano, home of the awesome pomegranate margarita Chat Icon They have 3 locations as well, although they don't make the food as spicy at the one on the East Side (works well for me since I can't handle things that are too spicy!).

If you go to the Rosa Mexicano at Lincoln Center, there's a bar downstairs but it can get crowded. From Rosa (on 62nd), walk over to the Hudson Hotel (on 58th), which has 2 bars (one of which is set up like a library and the other has a lit-up floor like the "Billie Jean" video and lucite furniture). The drinks are expensive though, just to warn you! If you like karaoke, there's a place on the West side that I can recommend as well.

It's a place called Japas - they have a location on 55th (between 7th & 8th) and another, larger one on 38th (near Madison I think). It's very fun - you can get a private room or you can sing at the bar. There's no stage, so basically you stand around the bar drinking and they bring you the microphone. I've seen plenty of bach. parties there Chat Icon
