Is it true...

That is it easier to buy a house in the spring/summer than fall/winter? There seems to be less and less on the market that I am interested in. People keep telling me to wait until the spring.

during the winter, there tends to be less houses on the market, but the prices are a little lower, in the spring theres more houses, but the prices go back up (supply and demand)

I heard that you will get the best prices in the dead of winter. Don't know how accurate that is. But we found our house in late Feb and the prices in this neighborhood were a lot higher over the summer, for whatever reason.

I guess you are dealing with less inventory in the winter. BUT sellers can always stipulate that they won't move out till X date. The house across from our new house went on sale in early March but they stipulated that they would not leave till July 1.

Re: Is it true...

Christy, value wise I would keep looking now.. prices are good at this time of the yr, once the spring comes around the prices go back up (as mentioned in the previous post).
