Will the estimate for having roof done change depending on
what time of year you have the work done? When would be the cheapest?

I disagree. I think it all depends on how busy the contractor is. I put a new roof on my house in January, not exactly the way I planned it but we had a problem during a heavy rain storm. At that time, the contractor that I use for everything, looked at the roof and was very honest. He told me you can repair it for $400 or $500 dollars but its still an 18 year old roof (that's how old the house is). When I asked him for a price, he gave me an excellent price and told me it was because he wasn't that busy and wanted to keep his guys working. So I would advise to price it now, and if you can wait, price it again in the winter, I doubt the price will go up and I'm betting it goes down.
