I need opinions...
I want to get a pt job. Both my dh and I make good $$ but I want to pay off debt, get a good bank acct behind us and basically keep myself busy for about 20 hrs a week.
He doesnt want me to. What would you do? Maybe if I tell him that it will only be until the end of the year, or until we have X saved.

He doesnt like the idea of "his wife" working two jobs. Needless to say, I have done it for years before him and after we got married I did real estate (which I no longer do) which was more hours.
He can't because he pays child support.

Why doens't he want you to? You should find out what he's worried about and find a way to ease whatever fears he may have. If you feel liek you want a job to stay busy, feel productive or save money, you should absolutely do it. Maybe start witha job that's only 10 hours as a compromise to your hubby.

Re: I need opinions...
This has been a big debate in my household for the past year. I would like to get a second job for similar reasons as you. My DH just started a second job and now I feel like I should too. He doesn't think I should b/c he feels the stress of working extra would outway the financial benefit. (His second job is something he actually enjoys doing)
I decided not to do it b/c I have a lot of functions coming up on the weekends this spring and summer and I can't see taking that much time off a second job.
It's totally up to you though. If you really want to do it for you, then tell DH. Maybe do a trial for a few months and see how it goes? You can always quit if it doesn't work out.
