SPINOFF to: 2 baby showers
how long between babies would most people NOT find it odd/weird to have a second baby shower vs a "sprinkle"??
the reason i ask: i had my first son when i was 21 and i was in the middle of a divorce. i had a shower (which i hated). i just got re-married. let's say, i'm not in my twenties anymore . my husband doesn't have any children.
would it be appropriate for someone to host a shower for me?? would i be wrong to not expect one? or would i be wrong to expect one?

Re: SPINOFF to: 2 baby showers
Since it is your hubbies first child and it has probably been 10+ years I think a shower would be appropriate.

Re: SPINOFF to: 2 baby showers
I think that's totally fine.
I would have felt weird if I had a sprinkle when preggo with my son since they are not even a year and a half apart.

Re: SPINOFF to: 2 baby showers
I would think it would be appropriate. I had a child six years ago. When FH and I start having more kids I know there will be another shower, but for a few different reasons. Totally acceptable IMO

I think that if the showers are less than 3 years apart it is a little much, IMHO.

I think that time frame is FINE..I wouldnt think twice about it.
I think 5-6 years are so apart and different Husbands/ SO's etc means a lot too ....

Re: SPINOFF to: 2 baby showers
I would think you will need plenty of things for the new baby so a shower is totally acceptable.
If you have a second baby within a few years of the first, I think a "sprinkle" would be more appropriate.

I'm always one to say a second shower is inappropriate, BUT situations like yours are different. I say go for it!

Re: SPINOFF to: 2 baby showers
I think it would be fine to have a second shower. One of my friends had a child from another relationship and 10 years later was remarried and pregnant. She had a second shower since her DH didn't have any children and also she didn't have any baby stuff as her DD was 10.

100% Appropriate.
We just had one for my best friend. Her youngest is eight and she got PG in August (surprise!). She had no baby stuff left, so we had a "sprinkle" for her - immediate family and very close friends only (about 20 people).
