What can this be?

Under my wedding band & engagement ring, my finger is a bit swollen, red, dry & cracked. What on earth could this be?

This happens to me every now & again. I usually put some bag balm on it.

Ring rash

Do you sleep and shower with your rings on?

Re: What can this be?

You could have had some soap residue leftover & it is causing an irritation to your skin bc the rings are rubbing on them

That's happened to me before too. I think cleaning the rings helped...probably soap residue in there that is irritating.

That's exactly what it is. Happened to me too, a few years ago. I happened to mention it to my dad, who told me it's from washing your hands while wearing your rings. To get rid of it, I just put some shea butter on the rash and took my rings off when I got home...I cleared up right away and I haven't had it since.

Yup, this happens to me with certain rings. Water/moisture gets trapped under and irritates your finger. Just leave them off for a few days till it drys up and be sure to dry under them from now on.

Re: What can this be?

my friend is actually allergic to platinum. Her e-ring is white gold - had no problem. Got married - had a platinum wedding band and her finger got red, scaley, etc... Lot of jokes about her being allergic to being married. Chat Icon

she actually had to get her plat ring dipped in white gold - so she could wear it.
