Does anyone elses DH do this????
EVERYTIME I try to surprise him for his birthday or Christmas with a really good gift that he will like he finds out about it before I give it to him!!
His birthday is monday and I got him tickets for the Opie and Anthony comedy show at Jones Beach in June. That is totally up his alley and he will love it. Well I have been waiting for a week for them to come in the mail so I can put them in his card, and just before he comes downstairs and says "um yea, I opened this by accident, but I didn't look so I don't know what it is..." I was sooooooo pizzed! Everytime he somehow finds out what he is getting!! I know it was an accident because he grabbed the mail the other day and I didn't realize and opened it by accident. Its soooo annoying though! He always gets me great gifts and I really wanted to surprise him when he opened his card!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrr....

My DH is the same way, but he usually guesses what the gift is before he opens it. If its a present he will shake it and guess it 99% of the time. I hate to give him gifts because he always does that. I told him when we have children he can't do that, it takes the fun out of gift giving

Something very similar happened with DH this past Christmas. His ONLY surprise gift from me was a gift card for the shark dive at the aquarium. I ordered it over the phone and they mailed it to me. Well, silly me didn't realize that b/c we got married there, DH would open something from them in the mail. I was so upset that his surprise was ruined.
Usually it's the other way around and I ruin MY surprises!

A few weeks before my b-day, I intentionally don't open unknown mail, packages, look into mysterious bags in the house, etc. With DW, I usually tease her for a while. I'm pretty good at hiding things that I get for her, so I keep asking her if she knows what I got for her, or she'll keep asking, but I never tell. She's guessed correctly a few times, but I didn't admit it until after she opened the present.
