Denise Richards "Heather & I Will Never Be Friends"
The actress graces the cover of the new OK! magazine and here's a little excerpt from her new interview.
Do you feel you were treated unfairly regarding the situation with Richie and Heather?
Yes. It was really one-sided. I was shocked at how judgmental people are. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, except for the people involved. We need to be grown-ups. I didn't have an affair with Richie during his marriage, nor did he during mine. I am a loyal girlfriend and a good friend. I hadn't spoken to Heather in quite a few months when Richie and I got together. I wasn't her best friend who said, 'By the way, I'm sleeping with your husband.' Quite frankly we [Richie and I] couldn't help it. The attraction was there and we have such a strong connection.
So in your eyes nothing wrong happened in you two getting together?
Nothing technically wrong, but I understand why Heather was jealous or upset. I have to suck it up and take the consequences for that.
Do you think that you and Heather will get to a point where you will reconcile?
No, and I'm okay with that. I wish her well.
How do you feel about Charlie being with somebody else?
I had Charlie and his girlfriend over for Thanksgiving with Richie and my family. Richie said, 'How about this? This could be a reality show!' We made jokes about it. It was hurtful for Charlie. He and Richie were friends but he was a man about it.
Can you and Charlie be friends?
We have our moments, but we're able to call each other and say, 'Look, I'm sorry. Let's focus on the kids.'
Was it difficult for you to go out in public during that time?
I felt trapped, because I lived just down the street from Heather. When I filed a restraining order [against Charlie], my declaration became public. That's humiliating for him and for myself. I hated when people said that I did it because I was trying to ruin his career. That wasn't the case. I've never said anything bad about Charlie in the press. And I won't. He's the father of my daughters and I respect that.

I don't like her...

I thought there was an unspoken rule that you don't go after your friend's exes.
