Cablevision has got to go!!! VENT Long Sorry
I am soooo sick of the games with this company!
Im sitting here in my living room and b/c of this darn IO box I dont have a cable signal...Every other TV in the house works except for the IO one!!!!
Its a long story BUT my payment was late...has to do with how they charge you basically a month in advance for service..BUT anyway..they screw up your service when you are late..I dont mean disconnection but they mess with your phone and your email and your TV service....Noone at Cablevision will admit to it but it happens.The funny part is that I wont be able to get into my email account or my account for that matter so I cant pay my bill...then when I call them they say that they have nothing to do with it and then miracles of miracles all of a sudden it will work..Im not a dead beat it just has to with the way my household it budgeted.
FiOs just became available in my area BUT....A. Im not all that into changing my # B. I will have to get a box for each and every TV I have at a cost of $5 which will wind up costing me more. C. They wont really tell you what the price of service is going to be after the introductory offer.
Does anyone else feel like we are being held hostage...
The Dolans just took the company private...is this going to make things better or worse?

I HATE cablevision too. As soon as another provider(like Fios) becomes avaiable in my area I'm done w/the the Dolan Empire.
Finally after 3 years we don't loose phone service in the middle of the night anymore. The reason it was a problem is because my house alarm would ring at say 3:30am to alert us there was no dial tone.
Some jackazz from cablevision actually told me once "we interupt your service at night so we can work on it"
Ummm hello you schmucks are the ones that assured me I could hook my central station up, even though my alarm co said don't do it. Maybe if you're going to shut my phone off at night, I deserve a courtesy call?
Whatever....cablevision blows.

I don't like Cablevision either but from what I have heard Verizon isn't cheaper unless you don't get any additional packages. Their intro rate is cheaper but it doesn't really include anything. It seems like if the Dolan's take the company private we should benefit because they won't have to worry about stockholders and can compete better with other providers.

But, if they go private, they don't have to answer to stockholders, so they have more power and can do whatever they want....
We went to satellite years ago because we hated Cablevision. Never regretted it for a minute. We have DSL for the computer.

I hate Cablevision as well. I would love to go to Fios, but my condo comes with free basic cable through cablevision. GRR!

I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE cable! We had time warner when we lived in the city and it was so much better!!!!!!!!! There is no delay on the digital and it didn't freeze up every five seconds when u are watching dvr!
I can't wait till it comes to levittown!

I used to have problems with cablevision many years ago but with IO, everything has been fine. No problems at all.

Well, if you join Verizon Fios, you will be saving a boat load of money each month due to the discount.
I'm not sure about being late and screwing with your connection. It sounds like a signal problem but i could be wrong.

We couldn't get Fios TV because it's not in our area yet. So we went with Direct TV instead. Which was a challenge because of all of our trees too. We went with a pole mount on the side of the house.
