so many questions

You al lsem to know so much, I feel silly but am just starting to ttc...anyway, couple of questions and I know some of you wil lhave the answers:

Is it ok to use the opk and test first thing in the morning? This is the first time I am using them and so far have not seen surge. I typically have 30 day cycles and have been testing for about seven days...beginnig on day 6....I don't want to miss it! I stil lhave not gotten a usrge and am wondering if I ever will. I can't really "hold it in" during the day so am hoping its ok, haven't seen much about this.

Also if you bd a day or two before the surge can that help as I imagine it must since the sperm lives for a few days??

I feel silly with these questions but I waited so long to try and get pregnant and am so used to trying to prevent it, it's almost weird....TIA for your answers!!!!

Staistically most surges happen in the afternoon so ytou want to try and test between 12-8 PM. If your cycles are 30 days you can start testing on CD11. Also look out ofr egg white type cervical fluid(if you put it on your fingers it will stretch. Most women O anywhere from 1-3 days after that but start having sex when you see that fluid. I have tested twice in one day and got my surge at like 11PM.

Melijane is incredibly knowledgeable so I'd go with her post but for other questions you might have, the only reason I know any of this is from reading TCOYF (Taking Charge of Your Fertility) (and the boards of course ). I highly recommend getting a copy!

I started using them last month and also had a hard time not going to the bathroom, now I try not to think of it and not to drink too much about 2 hours before I test. I also got my surge in the PM hours. I am using the Answer ones becuase I found them a lot less $ and more reliable then the other ones. HTH
