Hersday Question
If you were president what would be the first law you would put into effect?
I would either ban cell phones while driving - in every state, or lengthening maternity leave (similar to Canada - 1 year  ).

They just instituted that at my job - they only get one week though.

I always wondered about the Canada thing. Is it like FMLA for 1 year? So they hold a job for you but not necessarily your job? And you get some sort of disability pay? Seems like a great deal!

Mandatory 1 year maternity with FULL PAY! on and mandatory that once you are 8 mos pregnant, you have to leave work.

Dittto to Kathy's plus:
Expand the school system to include child care. Make it affordable. People should not have to choose between a house and children b/c of child care costs.

in addition to this....if your baby's stay in the hospital is longer than usual...then those extra days are added onto your maternity leave.
