I'm out - worse each month!!
AF showed up today - day 45! My cycle keeps getting longer, I don't get it!! I have a drs appt in a week; they told me to come back if I was not pg yet around this time (35 yrs old, ttc for about 6 months). Why is this sooooo hard??? What do you think the dr is going to do for me? I feel like I will be wasting my time. DH is not happy about having to get tested if that is the case. Such a horrible day, so miserable. I got a positive opk on cd26, so is it normal to get AF this late???
Sorry for the vent and long post.

No - how involved is that test? Can a regular ob/gyn do it?

Re: I'm out - worse each month!!
We are kind of going thru this now, DH is going to urologist in Tuesday, he is not happy going, but is doing it for the sake of having a baby. I am going on the 30 th to talk to the doctor - OB/Gyn to see what to do next. DH and I have been thru a lot of stress for the past 3 months( DH was in car accident, the man who hit him has NO insrnace etc.... our house almost burnt down, carbon monxide scare with oil burner, I was stalked by a road ragger, it goes on and on) My internist told us he cannot believe how bad it has been for us. I do not know if I should cry or scream... I am hoping I am told to relax , and told how to chart etc. I am kind of nervous too. I wish I knew.... I am hoping I do not need a pelvic exam but hey , if I have to I have to.... Feel free to FM mail me....

WOW, sorry to hear all that. It does sound like a horrible 3 months. My appt is on the 30th as well, so we can compare notes. This whole thing is so draining. I am curious as to what both of our doctors tell us.

Re: I'm out - worse each month!!
I'm sorry, I feel the same way. My periods are very irregular lately. We've been TTC for over a year. I've been through every test possible and nothing is wrong with me. My husband finally agreed to go get tested on the 26th and I go back to the doctor on the 30th. Hopefully they put me on Clomid. I can't take it every month being so disappointed. Good Luck and keep me posted.

Thanks for the thoughts...I have a drs appt on the 30th as well!! Must be a popular day, as someone else on here has one that day!! I think clomid might be in my future, but I think DH should get tested first.

Wow, we all have appointments on the 30th! It must be a popular day for doctors appointments.... Just keep thinking we are on the way to BFP ... I keep telling myself that.

Re: I'm out - worse each month!!
I know what it is like to have that disappointment month after month. I too am over 35 and know what my chances are.
The best advice of support I can give you is to do yourself a big favor and do not self-diagnose. Do not look on the internet for symptoms you think you have. I have had many people instill a lot of fear in me and they were way off base despite their intentions to help. Not one person who was not medically trained knew what my issue was. It was not until I started diagnostics with doctors that I found out what my issue was. Now I have a course of treatment that will hopefully lead me to motherhood.
I wish you the best.
